A Guide to Furniture-tipping
Prevention Aid
As one disaster prevention measure, Minato City offers assistance in the form of aid and in fixing in place objects to prevent furniture from tipping over during a disaster. Why don't you take this opportunity to make sure that safety measures in your home are up to speed?
Eligibility: Minato City residents or registered foreign residents in
Minato City. Household's located in Minato City with a desire to take
steps to install devices to prevent furniture from tipping.
* Aid can be received by a household once.
Aid details: Provide support bars to hold furniture in place in the event
of a disaster and window film to prevent flying glass.

Minato City assists to install Furniture-tipping Prevention Aid for
households that have difficulties installing the equipment and which
also meet the following requirements.
- Single-person households of a person aged 65 or older or households with only senior citizens.
- Households with people certified as Long-term Care Insurance system, level 3.
- Households with people who have the certificate of the Physically Disabled, the certificate of the Intellectually Disabled, "Ai-no- Techo," or Certificate of the Mentally Disabled.
- Households with people who have received aid for medical treatment of an incurable disease.
Apply: Fill in the designated application form for aid in installing devices to prevent the tipping of furniture or the application form for aid in installing devices to prevent the tipping of furniture and installation and submit it to Collaboration Project Section, Activity Promotion Subsection at each Regional City Office.
