MINATO VOICE (Multilingual FM broadcasting)
Minato City is home to many foreign embassies and 21,000 registered foreign residents, which comprises 10% of the total population. Over the past few years, the number of foreign residents has been increasing by 1,000 people annually.
For the convenience of Minato City's foreign residents, the City has launched an FM radio program broadcasting useful information on daily living, crime/disaster prevention, and event schedules in English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese, updated weekly.

Emergency broadcasting in case of disasters
Radio plays an important role when vital links and services are temporarily down due to a disaster. In such cases, having access to accurate information regarding matters such as the following is critical and that is what Minato Voice offers.
- Disaster warnings and earthquake predictions
- Rescue and relief efforts, or opening of evacuation shelter
It broadcasts information in English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other languages for the safety and security of all Minato City residents regardless of nationality.
