We are pleased to announce the formulation of the "Minato Internationalization Master Plan."

The Plan constitutes a systematic program of measures to be implemented over the five years beginning in fiscal 2010, aimed at further advancing internationalization and further enhancing administrative services for foreign residents, in order to create a rich local community unique to Minato City where foreign nationals living, working, and studying in, and/or visiting Minato City can think, act and support one another together with Japanese people to live comfortably and at ease.
With respect to the Minato City Basic Plan, the internationalization promotion policy "Assist cultural activities with a rich international flavor that can be announced to the world" is one of the policies in "Provide information on the industrial and brand value of Minato City" of the Sectional Plan "A City with Energy." The formulation and promotion of the Minato Internationalization Master Plan is positioned as one of the measures of the said policy.
The formulation of the plan entailed analysis of the needs of foreign nationals, as well as establishment of the Advisory Committee of the Minato Internationalization Master Plan, an organization comprised in part of publicly recruited members including foreign nationals, which considered the matters at hand from foreign nationals' perspective. Every effort has been made to ensure that the measures making up the plan reflect said needs and considerations to the greatest possible extent.
The Minato Internationalization Master Plan has been prepared in four languages: Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese.
