This subsidy helps cover out-of-pocket medical treatment costs for inpatient or outpatient hospital care provided to children from birth to their third year of high school until the first March 31 after the day they reach the age of 18 (excluding procedures not covered by health insurance).

Medical treatment costs are subsidized for infants who are determined that hospitalization is needed. All or part of the medical treatment costs are exempted. Admission to a designated medical institution is a requirement.
Eligibility: Infants with a birth weight of less than 2.000gram, or infants whose vitality is particularly weak and showing certain symptoms.

Eligible disease (Infantile chronic diseases)
Malignant neoplasm, chronic kidney disease, chronic respiratory disease, chronic heart disease, endocrine disorders, collagen disease, diabetes, congenital metabolic disorders, chronic blood/immune disorders, nervous system disorders, muscular disorders, and chronic digestive disorders
