How to Borrowing Books, CDs, etc. for the First Time

Individuals who live, work, or attend school in the 23 cities of Tokyo are eligible to receive a library card.

[Residents of the 23 cities of Tokyo] Present an ID indicating your current address. (such as residence card, health insurance card, or driver’s license)

[Those working or attending school in the 23 cities of Tokyo] Present both 1 and 2 listed below.

1. ID indicating your current address (such as residence card, health insurance card, or driver’s license)
2. ID indicating your place of employment or schooling (such as employee ID card or student ID card)

Borrowing items

Take the books, CDs, or other materials you want to borrow and your library card to the counter. You may also use an automated machine

Number of items that can be borrowed:
[Books and magazines] 10 volumes
[CDs] 5 titles each
[Videos] Up to 3 titles
[DVDs] 2 titles

Loan period: Two weeks

 

Minato City Digital Library

This service allows users to search, borrow, return, and browse e-books of the Minato City Library via the Internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Eligible users: The library is available to Minato City Library card holders who live, work, or are registered as a student in Minato City.
*Materials related to Minato City (local and administrative materials) are available to anyone.

Number of items and lending term: You can borrow up to 5 items for 2 weeks.
