We opened a Facebook page “Minato Information Board” It distributes useful information for foreign residents to use in their daily lives.

On “Minato Information Board”, we will share the City’s international initiatives, events, and useful information for foreign residents in English and easy Japanese.

We may also use the page to inform you of daily events in real time.

 2.Seeking Students for the Minato International Association Japanese Course

The Minato International Organization Japanese course begins in April.

Minato International Association (MIA) offers beginner Japanese courses to foreigners who live in Minato City and the surrounding area.

Students learn the basics of Japanese and the expressions they need to live their daily lives.

The course is divided into three levels.

We hope you will join us.

 

Step 1: Students who are complete beginners to Japanese study.

Step 2: Students who have taken step 1 or who can read hiragana.

Step 3: Students who have taken step 2 or who can read hiragana and katakana.

Step 1 –

MIA members: 9,000 JPY, non-members: 10,000 JPY

 

Step 2 –

MIA members: 9,500 JPY, non-members: 12,000 JPY

 

Step 3 –

MIA members: 9,500 JPY, non-members: 12,000 JPY

 

* Texts offered at no additional cost.

 3.Meeting Rooms Available at International Communication Space!

You can rent meeting rooms of International Communication Space.

Please use the rooms for international communication and other various purposes.

 4.English publicity paper "MINATO MONTHLY"

The March issue of English publicity paper “MINATO MONTHLY” has been published. You can recognize this month’s issue by the photo of Odaiba Seaside Park. The issue introduces people actively working in the city. The paper offers you useful information relating to the public administration and community events.

If you subscribe to The Japan Times/International New York Times at your home, the paper is inserted.

It is available at the Minato City Website (http://www.city.minato.tokyo.jp/kuse/koho/minatomonthly/index.html), major municipal facilities, post offices, and some of subway stations in the City.

It can be also delivered to your home if requested—please make an application using a request form(https://www.city.minato.tokyo.jp/kouhou/kuse/koho/minatomonthly/inquiry.html)or ask Minato Call (03-5472-3710).

 

 5.Public Relations Program “Hello from the Minato City Mayor!”

“Hello from the Minato City Mayor!” is a program updated four times every year (generally on the first day of March, June, September, and December) bilingually in Japanese and English. In each edition, the Mayor will speak to the residents of Minato City and discuss activities.

For this edition, the mayor visited Funagata Town, Yamagata Prefecture to speak with the Funagata Town Hall staff and Funagata Town Mayor about collaboration and exchange with Funagata.

The program is also full of special information, such as the fact that Minato City residents can use the large bathing area and outdoor bathing area of Funagata Waka-ayu Hot Spring, famous for its beautifying and warming effects, for free.

Minato City has been publishing “Minato City Mail Magazine Kiratto” on the 1st every month, which delivers essays by the Mayor Masaaki Takei and child-raising related information. Please enjoy reading the mail magazine.

 7.Naghme Esfahan Nowruz Celebratory Concert by the Iranian Traditional Music Group, hosted by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran

This concert by the Iranian Traditional Music Group will be held to celebrate the Iranian New Year (spring equinox). We hope you will come.

 8.Nowruz In Japan 2018 Traditional Dance Concert hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan will host Nowruz In Japan 2018.

There will be a traditional Uzbek dance concert. This is the kind of concert you will not usually have the opportunity to see. We hope you will come.

 10.Nihonbashi Shichifukujin Tour — Walking Search

Take a walking tour of the Shichifukujin (Seven Gods of Good Fortune) in Nihonbashi. Explanations of the temples to each of the Shichifukujin will be provided.

The explanations will be in Japanese and English.
