 1.Minato Disaster Prevention Festa - Experience disaster prevention in easy Japanese and English! -

How much do you know about disaster prevention? Do you know what you should do in case of a disaster? Let’s solve such questions and learn about disaster prevention in a fun way on this occasion! The Festa will be conducted in easy Japanese and English.

 2.Introduction of shops that collaborated with us on the Commercial District Multilingual Support Improvement Project. [Sun Florist]

Minato City helps shops in the city communicate with customers in foreign languages.

We hereby present shops that we assisted.

Opened in 1969, Sun Florist currently has three stores (Shirokane Main Store, Azabu Store, and Den-en Chofu Store). Shirokane Main Store is located near Shirokane-Takanawa Station and has a beautiful exterior.

 The bright shop is filled with the relaxing scent of flowers. If you want to buy flowers, the staff will help you choose and arrange flowers according to your budget. Sun Florist is especially good at making seasonal flower arrangements and bouquets.

It has won many awards at flower competitions in and outside Japan. Recently, it won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award and the Minato City Mayor Award organized by the Minato Shopping District Federation.

Minato City Bike Share is a bicycle rental service that allows you to rent and return an electric bicycle at any bicycle port you like. You can rent or return the bicycle in all bicycle ports in Minato City, Chiyoda City, Chuo City, Shinjuku City, Bunkyo City, Koto City, Shibuya City, Ota City and Shinagawa City.  5.We will hold the Eco Life Fair MINATO 2018!

We will present and exhibit environmental protection activities and ways to reduce the environmental burden in everyday life. We will also hold fun environment-themed stage events, as well as the Eco Bazaar and Quiz Rally that will take you around the tents of exhibiting organizations. The event will offer you many opportunities to reflect on the environment around you.

 6.Journey across Pakistan, a country full of surprises

Minato City regularly organizes photo exhibitions to present the charms of foreign cultures and traditions to as many people as possible.

Located between Asia and Middle East, Pakistan is home to the world’s oldest Indus civilization and an important country in the human history. This photo exhibition presents the country’s current scenery, with the cooperation of the Embassy of Pakistan in Japan.

 7.Free distribution of seedlings for the Green Curtain!

Minato City conducts the Green Curtain Project, which aims to minimize the strong summer sunlight that enters buildings by covering the exterior walls with nets and growing climbing plants (bitter gourd, morning glory, balloon vine, etc.) like a curtain. We will distribute seedlings of the climbing plants for free, so that you can try it out at home.

Numbered tickets will be distributed on Saturday, May 19. At the seedling distribution site of Eco Life Fair MINATO 2018, numbered tickets will be given out from 9時30分; seedlings will be distributed to those with the numbered tickets from 10時15分.

Time: From 10時00分 (10時15分 on May 19)

Eligibility: Minato City residents (non-residents working or studying in Minato City are not eligible)

Fee: Free (up to 2 bags per person, 1 bag contains 2 seedlings)

Seedlings of bitter gourd, Japanese morning glory, balloon vine and sponge gourd will be available.

Distribution will end as soon as the seedlings run out on each day.

No reservation required. Please come directly to the venue.

 8.Information on Minato City Tag Rugby Class

The 2018 Minato City Tag Rugby Class will open.

It is held every month at four elementary schools: Aoyama Elementary School, Higashimachi Elementary School, Konan Elementary School, and Onarimon Elementary School.

After signing up, you can participate in all of the classes. We hope you will join us!

 9.Overview of Facilities in Minato City — Suntory Hall

The first concert hall built in Tokyo, Suntory Hall holds concerts by famous orchestras and soloists from Japan and abroad. It has a large hall and a small hall. The large hall is distinctive for its vineyard style setup where the audience surrounds the stage. (Address: 1-13-1, Akasaka, Minato City)

The Organ Promenade Concert is held once a month during lunch time on a weekday for free. For more information, please check the Suntory Hall website.

 10.Daiba Shuttle Bus Information “Odaiba Rainbow Bus”

This shuttle bus directly connects the Daiba area to the Tamachi Station East Exit, as well as Shibaura Sanchome (Tamachi Station Entrance), and Shinagawa Station Konan Entrance.

[Fee] Adults (junior high school students and older): 210 JPY, Elementary school students: 100 JPY
