Services for Single Parent Families

Eligibility

A single parent family who is resident in Minato City and raising a preschool child, if one of the following criteria is fulfilled:

• The parent became a single parent within the last two years.
• The parent is job searching.
• The parent is temporarily ill.
• The parent has ceremonial occasions.

Number of Visits

Once per day. Up to twelve times per month.

Home Visit Hours

Each visit is up to eight hours between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, available by the hour.

Expense

Expense to be borne by a household depends on their income. (Maximum expense of 1,290 yen/hour) * Households living on welfare are exempt.

Home visit application is required. Please apply to Child Care Promotion Section (second floor of the City Hall) between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays.
* When you apply, you must bring a proof of single parent family, evidence of the reason you need the service, etc. Please contact for detailed information.

Eligibility

A mother of a single-mother family who fulfills all of the following criteria:

1. Beneficiary of Child Rearing Allowance, or having the equivalent income level.
2. On the starting date of the course, the person is not eligible for education and training benefits based on the Employment Insurance Law.
3. The education and training in question is acknowledged to be necessary for the person to find the right vocation.

Applicable Course

1. Education and training courses designated under the Employment Insurance System.
2. Education and training courses designated by the Reemployment Aid for Registrants Project of Japan Institute of Workers' Evolution.
3. Courses that have a high probability in connecting to careers that are designated by the national government.

* Application specifying the course to take is required to start any course.

Amount of Benefit

Forty percent of the cost that the party paid. (Up to 200,000 yen)

Eligibility

A mother of a single-mother family who fulfills all of the following criteria:

1. Beneficiary of Child Rearing Allowance, or having the equivalent income level.
2. The person is expected to finish a curriculum of two years or longer at a training institution and to obtain an applicable certificate.
3. Simultaneous pursuit of training and work, or training and childcare has been recognized to be difficult.

Nurse, Care worker, Childminder, Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist

Amount of Benefit

Maximum amount: 103,000 yen/month x 12 months. Please contact for detailed information.
