The Minato International Association (MIA), is holding a variety of programs to promote exchange between Japanese people and foreign residents.
[Exchange Program]
This program promotes exchange between Japanese people and foreign residents by holding a variety of events throughout the year, including outdoor activities, parties, and introductions of countries.
[Japanese Language Class for Beginner]
We hold Japanese language classes for people who are studying Japanese for the first time, or want to learn the basics of Japanese.
[Welcome Basket]
This program supports foreign residents living in Minato City. We help them resolve difficulties in their daily lives or find out things they want to know. Minato International Association members offer foreign residents of Minato City advice for living comfortable lives at consultation sessions.
[Consultation Service for Foreign Residents]
We will host an opportunity to think about and respond to the daily questions and concerns of foreign residents. Details of consultations will be kept confidential. This service is provided free of charge.
We are always accepting members who want to join these activities as volunteers. We hope you will participate.

Have you ever seen the large building at the East Exit of Tamachi Station?
This building is called, “Minato Park Shibaura.” It is the largest multi-purpose facility in Minato City and houses a combination of facilities to support the daily lives of Minato City residents. On the third through eighth floors is the Minato City Sports Center, where you can enjoy a variety of sports. General visitors who do not live or work in Minato can also use these facilities. It is open between 8:30 am and 10:30 pm, so you can even try getting some exercise after work.
On the 3rd floor, where the entrance is located, there are two pools, a large 25-meter pool and a small 13-meter pool.
There is also a Jacuzzi to soothe your aching muscles after swimming to refresh both your body and spirit.
Also on the 3rd floor is the Training Park, which has a gym area and studio area. The gym area is lined with training machines, and the studio area offers a variety of programs, focusing on aerobics. There is always an on-duty instructor in the gym, so first-time visitors can train in the gym with peace of mind. With 86 training machines and over 70 training programs per week, you are sure to be able to find something you want to do.
There are also 200 m running tracks on the 6th and 7th floors.
The 7th floor track is outdoors, so you can enjoy looking at the surrounding scenery while you run.

Limited-time-only outdoor ice skating rink, open only from Friday, January 5, 2018 to Sunday, March 4, 2018!
This event is certified as a Tokyo 2020 Official Sports/Health Program.
The Tokyo Midtown outdoor ice skating rink is the largest in Tokyo, accommodating up to 200 people. This is the 9th year it will be held. From parents and children to couples and office workers on lunch break, all kinds of people can enjoy this outdoor skating rink. There will also be also night skating, surrounded by beautiful illumination from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and skating lessons using the ice rink as well. We hope you will come to Tokyo Midtown during this event.

Last year, over 30,000 people came to Shinagawa Season Terrace’s “Shinagawa Yakiimo (baked sweet potato) Terrace 2018.” This year, it starts on Tuesday, January 30!
Enjoy the flavors of unique and popular special yakiimo from throughout Japan at the Shinagawa Season Terrace! This season, there will also be special foot and hand baths with waters from Japan’s famous Ureshino Onsen Hot Spring and Dogo Onsen Hot Spring at the outdoor venue, so you can enjoy piping hot yakiimo at a leisurely pace.

There will also be two warm kotatsu (heated tables), back by popular demand.
