1. Minato Disaster Prevention Festa - Experience disaster prevention in easy Japanese and English! — event to be held

How much do you know about disaster prevention? Do you know what you should do in case of a disaster? Take this opportunity to answer these questions and learn about disaster prevention in a fun way! There will be a stamp rally activity at the venue. Those who participate in particular programs can receive a present. The event will offer support in both easy Japanese and English. We hope you will come.

[Date & Time] Sunday, June 9, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm (Canceled in the event of bad weather. Program changed in the event of strong winds)

[Program]

1. Roppongi Hills Special Tour

- Tour of disaster stockpile storage (1st: 11:30 am, 2nd: 12:30 pm, 3rd: 1:45 pm, 4th: 3:00 pm)

- Tour of rooftop garden (1st: 1:00 pm, 2nd: 2:30 pm)

* Each tour provided to the first 20 participants who arrive and lasts approximately 30 minutes.

2. Ambulance-calling drill

3. Hands-on AED experience

4. Smoke-filled house experience

5. Early-stage fire extinguishing training

6. Bucket brigade (1st: 12:00 noon, 2nd: 1:45 pm, 3rd: 3:00 pm) * Each brigade lasts approximately 15 minutes.

2.Roppongi Art Night 2019 happening now! 

In Roppongi, we will hold an art festival for one night only.

There will be exhibitions of a variety of artwork, as well as performances.

There will also be many hands-on and participatory programs. We hope you will come.

3.Efforts to reduce food waste to be implemented.

Minato City will be setting up a Food Drive window in an effort to reduce food waste and throwing away of food.

A food drive is an activity to collect leftover food from households and donate it to people in need through food banks and other facilities.

The Minato Recycling and Waste Management Office will set up a window where you can bring in leftover food starting on Monday, April 22.

[Requirements for Food Donations]

- Packaging or containers must not be damaged

- Food must not be perishable

- Packaging must be sealed

- Food stored in glass containers not accepted

- Items with a noted expiration date must not expire within the next two months (excludes items such as rice and salt)

[The following types of food are especially welcome]

- Rice (white rice) and pasta

- Cooking oil, soy sauce, miso, sugar, and other seasonings

- Instant and dehydrated foods

- Canned meat, fish, vegetables and fruit

- Coffee, tea, and other luxury items

[Notes]

- We will check the type and condition of food when we accept it.

- All item must be brought in person. * Sending food is not permitted so that we can check the condition of food and ensure its safety. Minato City will also not come to pick food up from you. You may be asked to take home any food that does not meet the above conditions.
