2. The 2020 Municipal Kindergarten admission application is about to begin!

Parents and guardians with children aged 3, 4 and 5 can apply. For more information, please see the Minato City Website.

[Target audience]

1: For parents and children who are residents of Minato City, the children are divided into the following groups based on their birthdates:

 3 years old: April 2, 2016 - April 1, 2017

 4 years old: April 2, 2015 - April 1, 2016

 5 years old: April 2, 2014 - April 1, 2015

2: Parents can drop their children off and pick them up later

[About the application]

・Application forms and guidelines will be distributed.

Distribution locations: Municipal kindergartens; 7th Floor, School Affairs Section, Minato City Hall; the Residents Support Section at all Regional City Offices, and at the Daiba Annex.

・Both parents and children should bring their resident cards when they come to apply.

・If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, placements will be decided by lottery.

3. We will hold a stamp rally -AZABU WORLD FESTA- during which participants will get a food, culture, and history tour through Azabu!

A stamp rally event, during which participants will get a food, culture, and history tour, will be held in cooperation with shops and companies in the Azabu area. A lottery will be held for participants who have collected the stamps, and presents will be awarded.

The stamp rally map will be distributed at the Azabu Regional City Office and the Azabu Regional facilities.

4. Seeking Observers for Japanese Speech Contest

We will hold a Japanese speech contest in which foreign residents will speak on topics such as how foreigners perceive Japan as a country as well as what they think about global climate change. We welcome foreign residents studying Japanese, as well as anyone interested.

5. Recycling and Trash Disposal

Please sort your trash and dispose of it before 8:00 am on the designated collection days at a recycling and waste collection station. For more information on how to sort your trash or the collection days, please contact the Minato Recycling and Waste Management Office. Minato City has published a Waste Sorting Guidebook to inform residents of waste disposal rules and disposal practice (available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean). It is available on the Minato City Website.

We also offer the “Tokyo Minato City Waste Sorting App” with useful features for your smartphone including a search function for recyclables, waste sorting, and collection days, as well as an alarm to help you remember to put out your waste.

This useful app lets you easily look up a variety of information related to your recyclables and trash. We hope you will take advantage of it!

We offer an automated answering service that uses AI in a chat format to respond to inquiries for government information and lifestyle questions that foreign residents need in their daily lives.

The more questions users ask, the smarter the AI will become. We hope you will all ask lots of questions to cultivate this AI!

[Question topics supported]

Eight categories: disaster prevention, trash disposal, child rearing / education, international / culture, medical / hospitals, various procedures (taxes, insurance, pension), tourism, and neighborhood associations. In addition, trivia is available on lifestyles and culture unique to Japan.

[How to use]

Users can get the information they need directly through the Facebook Messenger app (free) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year just by entering relevant keywords.

3. Ask the AI a question.
