1. France photo exhibition!

フランス展示

Minato City regularly organizes photo exhibitions to present the charms of foreign cultures and traditions to as many people as possible.

The fourth event will be an exhibition introducing international culture, “French eMotion - The Animated Journey”, held in cooperation with the French Tourism Development Organization.

This exhibition features works that apply digital technology to photographs taken from the different perspectives of four foreign photographers on the topic of France’s cultural heritage.

This is a new type of photo exhibition where the user downloads an app through which animation is activated when the user views the photos with a smartphone or tablet.

Please make sure to bring your smartphone or tablet and join us.

2. Would you like to try the Bon dance?

Together let's practice the Minato City Bon dance song and the newly created "Jump! 2020". Please wear clothes and shoes that are easy to dance in. (* Heels are prohibited.)

3. Traditional Japanese “Bonseki” demonstration and hands-on learning experience!

盆石日本語盆石英語

Bonseki is a unique, traditional Japanese art in which several natural stones and sand grains of nine different sizes are placed on a black lacquered basin and are used to create a natural landscape.

The course will be conducted in Japanese and English.We hope you will participate!

4.Learn Japanese with Tadoku

Participants can receive instruction from a teacher and start using Japanese Tadoku materials.

“Japanese Tadoku” offers a way for students to learn about things they are interested in while also learning the Japanese language.

Students will get used to the language as they read extensively in Japanese, and will become more and more proficient.

There are many Tadoku books available for students to read in the library. We look forward to your visit.

The “Ordinance for Promotion of safe and appropriate use of bicycles in Tokyo” will be amended from April 1, 2020, and people who use bicycles in Tokyo will be required to have bicycle liability insurance.

Therefore, Minato City will recruit members for Minato City Traffic Accident Insurance.

Minato City Traffic Accident Insurance for City Residents is a low-cost insurance system through which members receive insurance money based on the number of treatment days spent in the hospital and length of the outpatient treatment period.

We also intend to recruit providers that will issue a supplementary “bicycle liability insurance plans” that will provide compensation for legal damages that arise from injury to another person or destruction of another person’s property that occurs as a result of owning, using, or managing a bicycle.

* Residents cannot subscribe to the bicycle liability insurance plan alone.

6. Would you like to try our multilingual AI chat?

We offer an automated answering service that uses AI in a chat format to respond to inquiries for government information and lifestyle questions that foreign residents need in their daily lives. The more questions users ask, the smarter the AI will become. We hope you will all ask lots of questions to cultivate this AI!

[Question topics supported]

Eight categories: disaster prevention, trash disposal, child rearing / education, international / culture, medical / hospitals, various procedures (taxes, insurance, pension), tourism, and neighborhood associations. In addition, trivia is available on lifestyles and culture unique to Japan.

[How to use]

Users can get the information they need directly through the Facebook Messenger app (free) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year just by entering relevant keywords.

2. Click “Send message”.

3. Ask the AI a question.

4. The AI selects the appropriate response from a pre-registered FAQ and answers your question in chat format. Users select whether the response was helpful or not.
