1.Novel coronavirus control measures - avoid 3 “close contact” ! Wash your hands frequently and wear a mask!

One of the novel coronavirus control measures is preventing the creation of clusters (mass infections).
It is important to avoid “close contact” at events and gatherings.
(1) Closed spaces with poor ventilation
(2) Places where many people gather closely together
(3) Situations in which conversations are held in close to proximity to others

2.Special Cash Payments

The government will provide a special cash payments of 100,000 yen to registered residents.

[Eligible Recipients] Those who are registered with the Minato City Office as of April 27 are eligible

[Residents must file an application to receive payments]
・Those who have a “my number card”
 Applications can be filed online. (Applications may not be filed using a My Number “Notification Card”) 
・Those applying by mail
 Minato City Hall will send notification and application forms to eligible recipients.

 Fill in the transfer account information on the application form, and mail it to the ward with copies of the account confirmation documents and identity verification documents.

3.Insurance Premium Reduction and Exemption

Insurance premiums for the period from February 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 may be reduced or exempted for households enrolled in national health insurance or long-term care insurance who lost their incomes due to the effects of novel coronavirus infection.

We plan to provide details about eligibility, application procedures, and reduction and exemption percentages on the Minato City Website and in the notification related to 2020 insurance premiums that the City will mail out in June.

After receiving the notification, eligible persons should apply to the ward.

4.Postage fees for forms submitted by mail

In order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus infections, Minato City will bear the postage fees for forms submitted by mail so that procedures can be completed without visiting the government office.

By downloading the postage paid by addressee form, cutting along the outer edge and attaching it to the envelope, forms can be mailed without stamps. We hope you will take advantage of this service.

5.We are recruiting Minato International Disaster-relief Volunteers

We are recruiting International Disaster-relief Volunteers in Minato City. Our volunteers will act as intermediaries to reduce the language barrier and ensure the safety and well-being of foreigners during disasters.

Those to whom all of the following apply
(1) Can interpret and translate a foreign language into Japanese and vice versa.
(2) Can participate in annual training conducted in Japanese.
(3) Can be contacted by e-mail.
(4) Has sufficient mental toughness and physical strength to carry out volunteer activities in the event of a disaster.
(5) Is able to work within Minato City.

[During times of disaster] Report to evacuation centers in the ward, translate disaster-related information, etc.
[Normal times] Disaster prevention drills and other local activities
