4.Let's be careful to avoid food poisoning this summer!

Bacteria multiplies more quickly when temperatures and humidity rise and this increases the risk of food poisoning. Follow the three principles of food poisoning prevention: “Don’t allow bacteria to come in contact with food, don’t allow bacteria to multiply, and destroy all bacteria.” Let's stay healthy throughout the summer.

food1

■Don’t allow bacteria to come in contact with food
Try to wash your hands twice slowly, and be sure to remove any dirt and residue.
A significant amount of bacteria adheres to kitchen knives and cutting boards after cutting meat and other foods. After use, wash thoroughly, make sure to disinfect with boiling water or chlorine bleach, dry and store.

food2

■Don’t allow bacteria to multiply
When the temperature of food rises, bacteria multiplies and the food spoils easily. Be sure to always store food in the refrigerator. Keep the temperature in the refrigerator below 10 degrees Celsius and the freezer below -18 degrees Celsius. Also, be careful to avoid overfilling your refrigerator and freezer.

food3

■Destroy all bacteria
Cook food sufficiently so that the heat reaches the core of the food. It is recommended that raw meat be cooked until the color of the meat changes and the juices run clear.

5.We ask for everybody’s cooperation in sorting recyclable plastic!

plastic1

■Recyclable plastic
Please sort according to the plastic mark on the container or packaging, and dispose of it as recyclable plastic.

■How to clean the plastic
Plastic cannot be disposed of as recyclable plastic if there is food residue remaining. Wipe with an old cloth, then rinse with leftover water to remove any remaining dirt or residue.
Please dispose of plastic that cannot be cleaned, such as oil containers and soy sauce packets, as combustible waste.

plastic2

■Disposing of recyclable plastic
Please put out your trash in a lidded container or a see-through bag.
Do not double-bag. The bags will be torn open at the Minato Resource Recycle Center and personnel will verify that they contain recyclable plastic.

■Things that cannot be disposed of as recyclable plastic
Please do not mix in objects such as batteries, blades, lighters, spray cans, or medical waste such as syringes, etc., as they may cause injury to recycling personnel.
