1.Preventing heat stroke

CoolWater

The advent of the novel coronavirus is requiring us to adopt a “new normal” that is based on the 3 fundamentals of infection prevention, namely (1) maintaining social distancing, (2) wearing masks, and (3) washing our hands regularly, as well as avoiding the 3Cs - “closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings”.

Key points for preventing heat stroke while adjusting to the “new normal.”

1) Avoid the heat
2) Take off your mask when it’s appropriate (when you are outdoors and able to maintain at least 2 meters between yourself and others)
3) Remember to hydrate frequently
4) Pay attention to health management on a daily basis

4.Reducing food waste

SDG

Food waste occurs when food that can still be eaten is thrown away. Around the world, one-third of the food produced is discarded, and even in Japan, about one bowl of food per person is thrown away every day.

In Minato City, we collect surplus food from residents’ homes (rice, pasta, cooking oil, seasonings, instant food, food in retort pouches, canned food, etc.). Please participate in food drives sponsored by the city.
