1.The "Easy Japanese" page has been launched on the Minato City Website

Because the foreign residents living in Minato City come from nearly 130 different nations, the city is promoting information dissemination in "Easy Japanese" so that information can be provided to as many people as possible. 

We have added a new "Easy Japanese" page on the Minato City website so that foreign residents can browse the information they need anytime, anywhere. The information to be posted is useful information for everyday situations and based on the contents of the living guide for foreign residents (Living Guide), a booklet that is given to foreign residents when they move into the city.

2.We are publishing the English newsletter, "Minato Monthly"

◇ We publish the English newsletter, "Minato Monthly", on the 1st of each month. 

◇ We can mail the newsletter to residents’ homes.

3.Information about winter rest and recreation facilities

◇ Dates of operation: Wednesday, December 23 (Wed) to January 8, 2021 (Fri) 

◇ Residents may apply for selection by lottery or apply for available rooms. Non-residents who work in Minato City may apply for available rooms after the lottery has finished. 

◇ User registration is required to use the facilities. 

◇ Those who have completed the user registration can apply through the Minato City rest and recreation facility reservation system.

4.Information about influenza immunization/vaccination

◇ Free vaccination for the elderly (65 years old and older)

・From October 1, 2020 (Thu) to January 31 (Sun), 2021

・The pre-vaccination check sheet was sent to eligible persons on September 28th.

5.A national census is being conducted across the country

The national census, conducted once every five years, is being conducted in 2020. It is applicable to all people living in Japan as of October 1.

This is an important survey that reveals the actual state of the current population and its households, providing information that will be incorporated into administrative materials that will influence future social welfare and employment policies, as well as environment improvement and disaster prevention plans at the national, prefectural, and local levels. 

◇ Submitting responses over the Internet

As a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the government recommends submitting responses using the internet. Responses can be submitted up until October 20th (Tue) using your computer or smartphone. For details, please consult the reference materials distributed with the survey form.
