1.Information about the COVID-19 vaccination program

Individual notices for vaccination cards, etc., will be sent to eligible individuals.

◇ Sending of notices, etc. (plan)
Senior citizens: from mid-March 2021
Other city residents: from late-April 2021

◇ Vaccination start date
At the current time, the start date for vaccinations has not been confirmed. The city will make preparations so that city residents can be promptly vaccinated once the vaccine efficacy, safety and quality has been reviewed and a vaccine has been approved.

◇ Eligibility for Vaccination
As a general rule, those with a Minato City resident certificate.

◇ Order of Vaccination (plan)
The first vaccinations will be given to healthcare workers, etc., senior citizens, persons with underlying health conditions and persons working in facilities for the elderly, etc.

◇ Vaccination Method (plan)
Vaccination in groups carried out at venues. Staff will travel to vaccinate individuals who cannot visit venues, etc.

2.Medical care information (for foreign residents)

◇ Enquires about medical institutions offering services in foreign languages or the Japanese healthcare system are answered.

3.Issuance of city coupons to households that are exempt from the resident tax

As a countermeasure to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city will send “Minato City Special Coupon Issuance” application documents to the head of households. Please confirm the eligibility and make an application by the deadline. For more details, please see the webpage below.

[Eligibility]

Households in which all members are recorded in the Minato City Basic Resident Register between January 1, 2020 and the base date (November 19, 2020) and are not taxed for resident tax for the year 2020 on the base date.

* In the case that at least one household member has been taxed or is a dependent, etc, of a person subject to tax, all household members are not eligible.

* Public welfare assistance recipients, etc, are not eligible.

[What will be issued]

City Coupons

20,000 yen coupons for a single-person household, 30,000 yen for households of two or more

[General schedule from application to issuance]

(1) The city sent “Minato City Special Coupon Issuance” application documents to head of households who are possibly eligible by regular postal services on January 18, 2021.

(2) Upon confirming the application requirements, please fill out the necessary items and return them to the city using the return envelope included (no stamp necessary).

(3) After checking the application details, the city will then send out “City Coupons” by regular registered mail.

* As a general rule, application is by mail only. Counter service enquires will not be accepted.

* Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted, so please be sure to apply before the deadline.

4.Would you donate food items from your kitchen or pantry to the Food Drive?

If you have any of the following food items stored in your kitchen or pantry, please consider donating them to the Food Drive (program collecting unused food items and providing them to people in need, via food banks, etc.).

5.Minato Voice - Minato City government information aired on Inter FM

Minato City broadcasts government, living information, etc., via FM radio in four languages - Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean - in the 3-minute time slot on weekdays from 5:56 pm to 5:59 pm. It can be heard on InterFM 89.7 MHz.
