MIM – March 10, 2021 issue

1.Information about the COVID-19 vaccination program

Individual notices for vaccination tickets, etc., will be sent to eligible individuals.

◇ Sending of notices, etc. (plan)
Senior citizens: from the beginning of April 2021
Other city residents: scheduling is currently under discussion.

◇ Vaccination start date
Minato City is currently preparing to make vaccination available to all of its residents, but the vaccination schedule remains undecided at this time.

◇ Eligibility for Vaccination
As a general rule, those with a Minato City resident certificate.

◇ Order of Vaccination (plan)
The first vaccinations will be given to healthcare workers, etc., senior citizens, persons with underlying health conditions and persons working in facilities for the elderly, etc.

◇ Vaccination Method (plan)
Vaccination in groups will be carried out at event venues. Staff will travel to vaccinate individuals who cannot visit venues, etc.

2.Thorough implementation of measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic at gatherings and festivals held by foreign residents

Please observe the following when holding festivals and gatherings based on the traditions and customs of your home country.

・If you are not feeling well, do not attend events or dinners.
・Refrain from attending events and dinners where people will be gathered closely together and where basic infection control measures will not be thoroughly implemented. Especially refrain from participating in events, parties, etc. at which large numbers of people are crowded together and speaking loudly.
・When participating in events and dinners, take appropriate measures to prevent infection, such as ensuring appropriate social distance, disinfecting your hands, wearing a mask, and not speaking loudly.
・Refrain from drinking heavily or late at night around town and in restaurants, and refrain from participating in drinking events as much as possible, due to the nature of these type of events.
・If necessary, consider new ways to have fun, such as spending time with your family at home or attending online events.
・If you suspect that you have been infected with the novel coronavirus and have any questions regarding consultation with a medical institution, call the consultation desk of the local government where you live.

3.We will perform maintenance on the multilingual AI chat

The Multilingual AI chat will also be available on the Minato City homepage starting in April in addition to the Facebook “Minato Information Board”.

As a result, the service will be suspended for the following period.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

4.Distribution of MIM will end in March

In Minato City, the distribution of MIM (Minato Information Mail) will end in March. Thank you for using MIM up until now.

From April, we will start providing information in easy Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified), and Korean on the Facebook "Minato Information Board". Please be sure to check it out.

5.We are publishing the English newsletter, "Minato Monthly"

◇ We publish the English newsletter, "Minato Monthly", on the 1st of each month.

◇ We can mail the newsletter to residents’ homes.
