Round Fan
Uchiwa, or round fan, is a tool to create a breeze on a hot summer day. It is made by wrapping paper on bamboo or plastic spokes. On uchiwa, pictures depicting summer, such as goldfish, morning glory, and others are illustrated.
Sense or the folding fan, is also a tool to stay cool during summer. It can be quickly opened and its shape is broadening toward the end. It is a device frequently used by Rakugo comic storytellers.
Both uchiwa and sensu are convenient, portable devices to cool yourself in the summer. You can use them while walking or talking with others.
When you go out on a sunny day and if you have a space in your bag, you can bring uchiwa to fan yourself.
