December 4 through December 10 is Human Rights Week.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, in order to ensure human rights as a common standard that should be achieved for all people. Since then, December 10 has become the Human Rights Day.
In Japan, December 4 to 10 has established as “Human Rights Week” in order to raise public awareness for the respect of human rights through various events on the topic.
Foreign people can consult at Human Rights Counseling Room, Tokyo Legal Affairs Bureau.
