Opening of the Minato Children and Families General Support Center in Minami-aoyama

In April 2021, Minato Children and Families General Support Center will open. It will be a multifunctional facility consisting the Children and Families Support Center, Child Consultation Center, and Maternal and Child Living Support Facility. It will further enhance functions to provide support from pregnancy to child-rearing, adolescence, and child independence.

Children and Families Support Center

Center supporting children, families, and expectant mothers. Relocated from the Minato Public Health Center, Mita 1-chome.
It will provide a place where parents raising children can gather and interact with each other, and also providing wide range of consultation services for children and families, including child-rearing advice, assistance for single parents, and domestic violence consultations. Also, a café will be set up to promote exchange.

Child Consultation Center

Child psychologists, doctors, lawyers, etc. will provide consultation services.
Also, providing social care services to ensure safe and secure places for children, such as placing children with foster parents and in children's homes.

Childcare When a child cannot live at home due to the guardian’s situation. Abuse and other problems involving children’s human rights.
Disabilities When a child has slow intellectual development, or a physical disability. Obtaining the Ai-no-techo Certificate of the Intellectually Disabilied.
Delinquency When a child runs away from home, steals, has a drug habit, etc.
Childrearing Concerns about selfishness, restlessness, difficulty making friends, bullying, tics, etc. 
Foster parents Regarding foster parents and Special Adoption foster parents.

Maternal and Child Living Support Facility

Maison de Ajisai Maternal and Child Living Support Facility is a facility that supports the stable lives and independence of single mothers. Professional staff, related organizations, and the community to provide support for mothers and children.
The City will also be responsible for approval of foster parents, authorization of nursery schools, and determination of the presence and degree of intellectual disabilities in order to protect the lives and rights of children.
