【Minato City Hall】Deaths from residential fires on the rise！！(Announcement from the Tokyo Fire Department)

- Contents: This is an announcement from the Tokyo Fire Department regarding residential fires. In the Tokyo Fire Department’s jurisdiction, the number of deaths due to residential fires has reached its highest level in the past 10 years. Please be especially careful in handling cigarettes and electric heaters. Cigarettes have been the most common cause of the residential fires with deaths in the past 5 years. Even electric heaters with no usage of fire can cause fires as they come into contact with flammable materials such as futons, curtains and laundry. Residential fire alarms are effective for early detection of fires. Please conduct regular inspections and replace the unit approximately 10 years after installation.
