National Pension Premiums

Premium payment method

1. Payment slip
   The payment slip will be sent to you from the Japan Pension Service. Please pay your premiums at banks, credit unions, Japan Post banks, or other financial institutions or convenience stores. You can also pay with a smart phone app.
2. Bank transfer
   Visit your financial institution to apply for an automatic bank transfer.
3. Credit card
   You can apply for credit card payment at the Pension Office.

 

Exemption system for National Pension Plan premiums

If you have difficulty paying the premium, please contact National Health Insurance and Pension Section (on the third floor of the Minato City Hall), a Regional City Office, or Daiba Annex. You may be eligible for a payment exemption.

 

When you are employed by a company

If you are employed, you don’t need to pay the National Pension premiums. Report your enrollment in your employer’s pension plan through your employer. In this case, you do not need to notify Minato City Hall directly.
