Enrollment in Nursery Schools for April 2027

The FY 2027 Guide to Nursery School Enrollment Will Be Available

This guide provides detailed information on the application periods, eligibility requirements, required documents, nursery school fees, and other childcare services. The first edition of the FY2027 guide, covering admissions for April and May, is available on the Minato City website and will also be distributed at municipal nursery schools and other locations from late October.

Nursery School Enrollment

If you wish to enroll your child in a nursery school in April 2027, please apply during the application period online, by mail, or in person at the Residents Support Section, Health and Welfare Subsection of the Regional City Office for the area where you live.

First-Round Applications
Online or by mail: October 30 (Fri) to November 24 (Tue) (must arrive by November 24)
In person: October 30 (Fri) to November 24 (Tue), by 5:00 p.m.

*Applications for children born between November 11, 2026, and January 1, 2027, will be accepted until January 14, 2027 (Thu).

Second-Round Applications
Online or by mail: January 18 (Mon) to February 5, 2027 (Fri) (must arrive by February 5)
In person: January 26 (Tue) to February 5, 2027 (Fri), by 5:00 p.m.

*Different application deadlines apply to children born between January 23 and February 17, 2027.

Enrollment in Classes for Children Requiring Medical Care or Children with Disabilities

Moto-azabu Nursery School offers a dedicated class providing group childcare for children who require medical care or have disabilities, while Treasure Kids Shibaura Nursery School offers a dedicated class for children who require medical care. A dedicated nurse is always present in each class. For Moto-azabu Nursery School, transportation by welfare vehicle is also available for children who have difficulty traveling to and from the nursery school. If you wish to enroll your child in one of these classes, please apply in person during the application period to the Residents Support Section, Health and Welfare Subsection of the Regional City office for the area where you live. Applications by mail are also accepted, but applying in person will make the process smoother, as staff will ask about your child and how they are doing and arrange a date for an interview.
