Housing for Minato Citizens

Minato City provides rental housing to low/moderate-income families and individuals at an affordable price.

Key Eligibility

  • The applicant for rental housing, applicant's parent, applicant's parent-in-law, or applicant's partner's parent must be a resident of Minato City.
  • Foreign residents must have permission to be a permanent resident of Japan, or must have been living in Japan for more than one year.
  • Must be having problems securing housing.
  • Must currently be living with or planning to live with a family member (Applicable only to family housing) .
  • Must not be in arrears on resident tax payments.
  • Applicants and their prospective co-residents must not be members of a gang.

* The eligibilities for single-person housing units and senior-type designated public rental housing units are different from above.
