Welfare Allowance for the Disabled Individuals
Disability Welfare Allowance (Minato City program)
The welfare allowance for the mentally and physically disabled will be paid to persons with intellectual disabilities, mental disabilities, physical disabilities, cerebral palsy, progressive muscular atrophy, and intractable diseases.
Children’s Disability Welfare Allowance (National government program)
The Children’s Disability Welfare Allowance is for the seriously intellectually, mentally, or physically disabled individuals under 20 years of age who require constant nursing care in daily life.
Special Disability Welfare Allowance (National government program)
The Special Disability Welfare Allowance is for the seriously intellectually, mentally, or physically disabled individuals aged 20 and older who require constant nursing care in daily life.
Severe Disability Allowance (Metropolitan government program)
The Severe Disability Allowance is for those with severe intellectual or physical disability or orthopedic impairment, whose condition necessitates constant special assistance for their daily lives.
* Individuals living in a facility supporting the disabled or who have an income over a certain level are not eligible for the allowances described above. For details on the conditions, contact the office below.

Special Child-rearing Allowance
The Special Child-rearing Allowance is paid to fathers, mothers, or rearers caring for children who require constant care due to severe intellectual, physical, or mental disability. The allowance is paid until the 20th birthday of the child. The amount of allowance varies according to the degree of the child’s disability.
* If the prospective recipient’s income exceeds a certain amount, or if the child has been institutionalized in a child welfare facility excluding day care centers such as a nursery school, this allowance will not be paid.

Child Support Allowance (Shogai Teate)
The Child Support Allowance is paid to fathers, mothers, or rearers who are caring for children who meet any of the criteria listed below until their 20th birthday.
- Children designated with Class 1 or 2 disability in their Shintai Shogaisha Techo (Certificate of the Physically Disabled)
- Children designated with Class 1 - 3 disability in their Ai-no-Techo (Certificate of the Intellectually Disabled).
- Children who are suffering from cerebral palsy or progressive muscular dystrophy.
Amount of allowance: ¥15,500/month per child
* If the prospective recipient’s income exceeds a certain amount, or if the child has been institutionalized in a child welfare facility excluding day care centers such as a nursery school, this allowance will not be paid.
