Influenza is Spreading, Practice Proper Cough Etiquette

Influenza is spreading nationwide, and Minato City has reported several cluster infections in schools, social welfare facilities, and other settings. To prevent infection, the practice of proper cough etiquette is essential.
Influenza viruses are contained in the droplets produced by infected individuals—these droplets can spread about one to two meters when a person coughs or sneezes.
If you cover your mouth with your hand when coughing or sneezing, the virus can adhere to your hand and may be transmitted to others through the objects you touch. When coughing or sneezing, cover the mouth and nose with a tissue or the inside of your elbow to prevent droplets from spreading to those around you.
Each person’s awareness and actions are key to stopping the spread of infection.
