As one of Japan's first parks, Shiba Park was built around Zojo-ji Temple. The expansive park grounds include plenty of beautiful natural spaces and lots of things to see. The momiji-dani (maple leaf valley) is a sight not to be missed. As suggested by the name, many Japanese maple trees are planted there and visitors can enjoy the autumn foliage. In the spring, visitors flock to the park to see the plum trees as well as nearly 200 cherry trees.
