There are 12 municipal kindergartens in Minato City, ten of which offer three-year care, accepting children of ages three to five years. The other municipal kindergartens provide two years of care for four- and five-year-olds. Children who live in Minato City are eligible to enroll in a Minato municipal kindergarten. To enroll your child in a municipal kindergarten, keep a look-out for enrollment information every year around November in the Koho Minato, Minato Monthly, or on the Minato City Web. There are 14 private kindergartens in Minato, and they provide three years of care. Applications are accepted every October for the following year. Guardians of children living in Minato City who attend a private kindergarten are eligible to receive a subsidy from the city.
