Minato City Smoking Rules

Rules for residents and those who visit Minato City

In the outdoor public spaces in Minato City such as roads, parks, Children's Parks, and public open spaces, the following rules must be observed:

1. Do not drop cigarette butts on the ground.
2. Do not smoke in places other than the designated smoking areas.
3. Even in the case of smoking on private property, give consideration to those in outdoor public places so that they do not have to inhale smoke.

 

Minato City promotes the development of pleasant communities where smokers and non-smokers are considerate of one another.

To encourage observance of the Minato City Smoking Rules, we cooperate with neighborhood associations, store associations, and business operators on the following activities:

1. Campaigns and cleaning activities
2. Affixing "no smoking" stickers on the street
3. We distribute maps of smoking spaces written in English, Chinese, and Korean.
4. Patrolling and providing advice in the communities.

 

We are also setting up more outdoor and indoor designated smoking areas and making efforts to prevent passive smoking.
