Use the multilingual interpreter call service
The city has a multilingual three-way call service for foreign users who have difficulty speaking Japanese.
By opening the Minato City website on your smartphone and selecting your preferred language, you can talk to a city representative via an interpreter. Even if you are not fluent in Japanese, you can communicate in your native language. The service is available in 13 languages. Please use it.
Eligibility
Anyone in need of foreign language support
Time
Weekdays 8:30AM to 5:15PM (According to city office hours)
Available languages
English, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog, French, Russian, Nepali, Indonesian, and Hindi
Flow of multilingual three-way call service
- Access the Minato City website on smartphones and other devices.
- Select the desired language on the screen and call the Multilingual Interpretation Call Center
- The call is connected from the multilingual interpretation call center to the city. The conversation will start among the caller, interpreter, and city staff member.
