Do you know about the National Pension Insurance premium exemption system?

For those who have difficulty paying National Pension Insurance premiums due to low income or other economic reasons, here is an exemption system for premiums.

Type of Exemption

• Full exemption
• Three-fourths exemption (one-fourth payment)
• One-half exemption (one-half payment)
• One-fourth exemption (three-fourths payment)

*In addition to these exemptions, there is also a system for students and those under 50 years of age in which the payment of premiums is postponed if the previous year's income of the applicant or spouse (or the applicant in the case of students) is below a certain amount. The period of deferral is not reflected in the amount of the annuity.

*You can apply retroactively up to two years and one month prior to the last date.

Income Criteria

If the income of the applicant, spouse, and head of household for the previous year is below a certain amount from the year of application, the application will be approved.

Period for which the exemption is approved

Included in the eligibility period for the basic pension for old age, disability, and survivors.
For the period during which premiums were exempted, premiums can be paid within 10 years of the exemption period.
