Reservations for Nursery School Admission after the end of Childcare Leave

We will accept admission reservations for parents/guardians who plan to return to work from childcare leave partway through the fiscal year (from May 2026 to March 2027).
Applications cannot be submitted concurrently with applications for admission to authorized nursery schools for April 2026.

Eligibility

Minato City residents who meet all of the following conditions:

1. You are raising a child born between May 1, 2025, and April 1, 2026.
2. You have taken childcare leave under the Child Care and Family Care Leave Act or other applicable laws, and you will return to work on or after the day before your child’s first birthday, and within the month of admission.
3. You are eligible to receive childcare leave benefits under the Employment Insurance Act or other applicable laws.

*Private authorized nursery schools and small-scale childcare providers are not eligible.

Application

Submit the full set of nursery school application documents, the Reservation Application Form for Admission After Childcare Leave, and a copy of the Notice of Decision for Childcare Leave Benefits (or equivalent) to the Residents Support Section, Health and Welfare Subsection of your Regional City Office.
